Principal Team Update

Hi BPS families,
A warm welcome back to all our students, staff and families for Term 4. We’re looking forward to a term filled with learning, connection and wonderful experiences.
Whilst walking into school this week, some of you may have noticed our Japanese Garden that runs along Herbert Street, near our main office entry. This was revamped over the term break by our maintenance team. When you get a chance, go for a walk along Herbert Street and take a look at this lovely feature to our school grounds! Some of our Year 4 students enjoyed the space yesterday whilst reading.
Similar to last year, there is an opportunity for parents/carers to provide a genuine educational rationale regarding their child's placement in their 2026 class. Please click on the below attachment to learn more about this process.
Thank you to those who attended the BPS Teaching, Learning & Wellbeing information session. We greatly appreciate your positive feedback on the growth of our school and the direction it is heading. As discussed, we are opening school tours for our current families. These tours are a chance to see classrooms in action and gain an insight into our teaching and learning approach. If you would like to participate, please sign up using the following link: volunteersignup.org/3D9HE. Please register one person per box. If two family members will be attending, sign up for two spots. To minimise interruptions and maintain focus for students, we kindly ask that younger siblings don't attend.
At the end of last term, Ryan Batchelor MP visited Beaumaris Primary to learn more about our students growth and the continuing improvement of our students data. We also had the South Eastern Region Regional Director, Ian Burrage, visit to see our students in action. This week we have Shadow Education Minister Jess Wilson MP visiting to learn more about Beaumaris Primary School’s Teaching and Learning approach, alongside our local member Brad Rowswell MP. We are so proud to showcase our programs and approach here at Beaumaris Primary School and all of the wonderful learning taking place.
This term (Friday 21st November) we are excited to be holding our first ever BPS Colour Fun Run, organised by Parents & Friends. Please keep a close eye on the Parents & Friends page of Stop Press Newsletters, as this is where information will continue to be shared and you can find out more about this upcoming day. This event is a significant fundraising event for our school, with the money raised to go towards updating our outdoor spaces, such as our well-used basketball court. Week 1 of fundraising begins next week! Details on how to get set up for fundraising and more about the event can be found on the P&F page of this newsletter, on the Compass News Feed, and in the booklet your child will bring home this week. We're really looking forward to this fun filled event for our students and school and look forward to sharing more details throughout the term.
We hope our students had a great Footy Day. Thank you for supporting this day. Through gold coin donations, $663.85 was raised which will be donated towards our World Vision sponsor child.
Next week, we welcome our 2026 Prep students into our school for their first transition session. Many of you will know and remember what a significant, special time and milestone this is! We are thrilled that they will be joining us multiple times across this term as they prepare for the start of the 2026 school year.
We hope our Year 3 students have a wonderful time on their Year 3 Camp this week. They are heading to Oasis Camp later in the week for what is sure to be a memorable experience. Miss Hulls will be joining the team of staff and volunteers for the camp and can't wait!
Kind regards,
David, Grace, Ellen and Keli
