As the term draws to a close, I take this opportunity to reflect on the significant accomplishments and the memorable moments shared. I extend my sincere gratitude to everyone for their ongoing support and partnership with the school.
We would like to inform our community that Jessica Ryan will be concluding her role with us at the end of this term. We sincerely thank her for her dedication and the positive impact she has made in supporting our students and school community. We are pleased to welcome Kaela Grummisch as our new school social worker and look forward to the valuable support she will bring to our school.
This week has been particularly busy, as we hosted Open Afternoons for our Years Prep, 3, 4, and 5 students, providing an opportunity for families to engage with the learning environment.
On Monday, the Prep students held their Open Afternoon, showcasing their work on art appreciation. They have been learning to observe art closely, focusing on the feelings, emotions and techniques used by the artist. They explored Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night, examining what makes the painting unique and are experimenting with different materials to create their own interpretations. Please see below for examples of their work.
In Year 4, students have been exploring the genre of Autobiographies, learning how they capture memories, achievements and stories that shape who we are. They began by discussing what autobiographies are, where we see them and even looked at their teachers’ own examples.
From there, students reflected on their own lives and created pieces that tell their unique stories. They wrote about themselves, their families and heritage, hobbies and interests, and mapped out a personal timeline. They shared a special family recipe and a treasured memory, interviewed a friend and included a family heirloom and tradition.
We are proud to showcase these autobiographies, celebrating the voices, experiences and identities of our Year 4 learners.
Thank you to the families who completed the 2025 Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey (PCGOS) which closes at midnight tonight. If you haven’t had the opportunity to complete it, there is still time. Your feedback is valuable to us.
I want to take a moment to wish all members of our school community a relaxing and enjoyable term break. I hope you have the chance to unwind and spend quality time with loved ones.
