Term 3 - Week 7
The 1st day of Spring and the 1st day of September means hats are back for the rest of the year! Please ensure your child has a hat and leaves it in their bag or tub at school! Thanks to al our students who have worn their hat this week.
We are proud to share that our students represented our school on Thursday with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship at the District Athletics event, held at the Tom Kelly Athletics Track .
It was a fantastic day filled with determination, teamwork, and impressive performances. Our students competed against other schools in the district and gave it their all across various track and field events. Their hard work and commitment in training truly paid off.
A huge congratulations to all the students who participated – you were outstanding ambassadors for our school. A special well done to those who have progressed to the next stage of the competition. The top 2 students/teams in each event have now qualified to compete at the Division Athletics Event on Tuesday 14th October 2025. We wish them the very best as they prepare to take on the next challenge!
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Nick Dix, Ella Gasowski, Emma McCoy, Eryn Muir, Jack Bell, Ciara Corless, Steph Decerff, and Amanda Nelson for running such a successful and enriching camp. Your enthusiam and care ensured that every student felt supported, encouraged, and safe throughout the entire experience.
Camps often present students with opportunities to challenge themselves, step outside their comfort zones, and grow in confidence. Thanks to your guidance and encouragement, the students were able to meet those challenges head-on, knowing they had a strong and supportive team behind them.
Being a parent helper on a camp or excursion is a wonderful experience and a great way to see, first-hand, the rich extracurricular opportunities we offer our students.
We’d also like to warmly thank our crew of parents Bel, Nicole, Diana Anna and Naomi for your support of the camp program. It was such a pleasure having you join us our presence added a wonderful layer of connection between home and camp, and we truly appreciated your involvement.
Our parents who recently attended camp shared some lovely reflections about their time with us. Their involvement not only supported the smooth running of the camp, but also helped strengthen the connection between home and school life.

Volunteering at Camp Oasis was such a rewarding and heartwarming experience.
It was wonderful to see the students outside of their usual classroom, step out of their comfort zones, kindly encouraging each other, grow their independence and also grow in confidence throughout the activities.
I feel very grateful to have been part of such a memorable experience alongside my child.
From Anna, Matilida's mum
The parents had just as much fun at camp as the children, joining in exciting adventures like laser tag, candle-making and archery. It was wonderful to observe how special camp is for our kids. The teachers are so caring of the children and go above and beyond to make it a wonderful experience!
We’re so grateful to have such engaged and supportive families as part of our community.
This week, we recognised R U OK? Day, a national day of action that reminds us all to check in with those around us — friends, classmates, teachers, and family — and ask a simple but powerful question: “Are you OK?”
At school, we took time to reflect on the importance of looking out for one another, listening without judgement, and knowing that it’s always okay to speak up if you’re not feeling okay.
Students participated in activities and discussions focused on kindness, empathy, and mental wellbeing. Whether it’s a quiet chat with a friend or a supportive message to someone having a tough day, we’re proud of how our school community continues to foster a safe and caring environment for all.
R U OK? Day is not just about one day, it's about building a culture where asking, listening, and supporting becomes part of everyday life.

Last week, our amazing P & F committee made sure our students could enjoy a wonderful selection of thoughtful gifts to choose from for their dads and father figures. Thank you so much to all the parents who volunteered their time to help on the stall.
We’d like to remind everyone to wear the MPRPS school uniform. Wearing it shows pride in our school, creates a sense of belonging, and ensures we present ourselves well both at school and in the community. We ask that students avoid wearing non-uniform items and choose their school uniform instead.
A big thank you to our wonderful Science and Kindergarten teachers for organising such a fun and educational Kinder Science Afternoon today! We truly appreciate your effort in creating a memorable learning experience for our little scientists. We wil add some photos next week.
