Around the Primary Classes

Kinder

The 2025 Arts Festival saw Kinder sing a song about love, joy, peace and forgiveness, whilst also dancing their hearts out to L.O.V.E by High 5. They shared joy and happiness with all who attended.

They presented a collection of artwork inspired by the picture book ‘A Bear and a Tree’ by Stephen Michael King. Students constructed a cozy igloo using the technique of paper mache. The bear itself was sculpted from clay. Students painted a majestic winter tree and used puffy paint to create a textural snow effect. The tree was set against an ethereal, icy background, which was brought to life using watercolor paints.

Year 1

As a part of our Habitats unit, Year 1 visited Bonorong to get up close and personal with local wildlife. Our guide introduced us to two Tasmanian Devils, but we didn't get too close to them! We met two cheeky echidnas who followed us along the enclosure waiting to be fed, and one only had three legs! We fed the kangaroos, learnt about the rescue program and even spotted some sleepy spotted quolls hiding high in the trees in their enclosures. This excursion then became the inspiration for our Arts festival sculptures and sketches.

Year 3

What a fantastic display of effort and enthusiasm from our Year 3 students at last week's Arts Festival!

The children poured their hearts into creating their artworks, and it truly showed. Their eye-catching pieces lit up the gallery, and it was wonderful to see so many families admiring their hard work.

The Year 3 students also put on a spectacular show. Their beautiful voices filled the auditorium during their choir performance, and they were absolutely enchanting as graceful butterflies in their dance.

A huge well done to all our Year 3 students for their creativity, hard work, and for bringing so much energy to this year's festival. We're incredibly proud of them!

Year 6 White

Our class, 6W worked so hard in the lead-up to the Arts Festival, and we were excited to finally show our work. Setting up the displays and practising the performances took a lot of effort, but it was exciting to see everything come together. On the night, we felt proud seeing people stop to look at our art and cheer during the performances. Sharing the festival with our families and friends made all the hard work worthwhile.
