K - Yr 6

Kindergarten

In Week 6 Kindergarten started their new History unit where they are learning all about what makes a family. We have named family members, drawn a basic family tree and played games which would often be played with family members.

Year 1

Maths Warm-Up Fun

This week, Year 1 enjoyed a maths warm-up game called “I Spy”. We placed three rows of three playing cards on the floor, then the caller said: “I spy with my little eye two cards that add up to…” Students searched the cards to find the correct pair.

This quick game helps students practise addition, number bonds, and mental maths skills in a fun and engaging way.

In Mathematics, Year 1 have been exploring division. Students are learning that division is about sharing and grouping equally. We have used hands-on materials, such as counters and blocks, to make groups and solve simple problems. For example, “If 12 counters are shared between 3 friends, how many does each friend get?”

This unit is helping students build strong number sense and see the connection between multiplication and division in everyday life.

Religion

Our students recently visited the Carlo Acutis exhibit, where they learnt about the life of this inspiring young man. Carlo was a teenager who loved soccer and computers, and he used his talents to share his deep love for the Eucharist. Students were able to see how his faith, kindness, and creativity made an extraordinary impact on the Church, even at such a young age.The exhibit encouraged studentsall to think about how we can use our own gifts to live with faith and generosity, just as Carlo did.

Year 2

Religion

In Religion, the students chose and researched the life of a Saint. They learned how to create a PowerPoint presentation and are presenting their findings until the end of the Term.
