Introducing Emily (pictured) - Emily's involvement in the school community is inspiring; she wears many hats and all is done to a high standard. 

Current Projects under the Parents' Association

Foodbank

Emily was a key player of the Foodbank program being rolled out this year for our Mullum community.  From the first discussion of a method to supplement the home pantries of our school community, to the program being launched, Emily's work behind the scenes ensured the quick implementation of this important initiative.

All School Breakfast

Not just your average breakfast -  think buffet breakfast!  Hot porridge, toast, two types of cereal, baked beans, spaghetti, fruit packs, milk boxes and let's not forget the different spreads and stewed fruit (made by Emily and her daughters), the inaugural All School Breakfast on the last day of Term Two was a great way to start the day with friends.  Emily not only organised the volunteers, she also set up the day before ensuring the excited students got to enjoy a delicious meal with each other.  With another All School Breakfast tomorrow morning, a friendly reminder to pack a bowl and spoon for your child.

Involvement in other areas of Mullum Primary School

Emily runs the Mullumites Playgroup every Wednesday morning. Her background in education and being mum to three girls, brings experience that is a bonus in facilitating this important form of early learning. Emily is also on the School Council serving as a parent councillor.  In addition to the playgroup and Council, Emily is a willing volunteer at school events and assisting where is able.

How to get involved

Foodbank - with a great array of staples, fruit and many a time vegetables from the School Garden, all are invited to drop by the trolley and take home food that your family will enjoy.

All School Breakfast - Emily welcomes volunteers to assist with the last Breakfast Club of the year on Friday 19 December.  Please email mullumparentsassociation@gmail.com

Mullumites Playgroup -  playgroup is a great environment for 0-5yo to play and develop while having special time with their parents and caregivers.  Contact the school office for more information 

Volunteer - Volunteering at school events, excursions etc... is a great way to strengthen connections with the school and other parents while enjoying what your child is doing that day.  Opportunities to volunteer are posted on Compass.

Emily, thank you for all the work that you do which has enriched the Mullum community.  You have a strength that is enveloped in a sweet nature, gentle voice and ready laugh making it a joy to be part of any event you facilitate. 

PA MEETINGS

Wednesday 15 October is our last PA meeting before the AGM and we will celebrate with a meal (attendees to pay for themselves)  . We ask if you can please confirm that you will be attending the meeting by Tuesday 7 October with details of the evening and location to be confirmed. Annual General Meeting - 18 November 2025

With the AGM just around the corner, members can cast their vote for the President, Secretary and Treasurer.  That evening the new President will lead discussions of events and fundraisers for 2026 plus the goals for that year.  If you have ideas for Mullum or want to support the goals the PA sets for 2026, join the PA on the night of the AGM and have your say.

CHOCOLATE DRIVE

Thank you to all the families that purchased a box of chocolates or lollies. For those who missed out ordering your chocolate or lolly box, there may be an opportunity to order before Christmas.  Details to come.

TRIVIA NIGHT - Saturday 11 October

Tables are selling fast for the Trivia Night.  With over $9000 worth of donations from the local community, it will be a night not to be missed.  Book a whole table, or just a seat or two.  All are welcome.  Please check out the designated page in this newsletter for more information.
