Victorian State School Spectacular

When I put up our hand to be in the Victorian State School Spectacular, I did not exactly know what we were in for.  After months of practice and our amazing students (supported by amazing parents), performed two amazing shows.

Here are a few statistics for you...

  • This was the 30th Anniversary of Victorian State School Spectacular
  • 20 Mullum Primary School students participated, for the very first time
  • 11 parents volunteered their time and expertise to help make this all happen
  • Rehearsals started 5 months ago with Mark Nunis running weekly rehearsals
  • There was 2 long days of rehearsals at Melbourne Town Hall
  • And, 2 very long days of rehearsals at John Cain Arena
  • 9 trips on the train to the city
  • 2500 students in the 2025 cast, all from government primary and secondary schools
  • 1000 students in the mass choir
  • 1000 students in the mass dance group
  • 500 primary and secondary students as principal cast, musicians, stage managers, sound technicians, lighting technicians, hair and makeup artists, costume designers, props
  • 1 magnificent day of performances
  • 2 shows, each show 3 hours long
  • 5 bags of lolly snakes

This is the largest performance that anyone is ever likely to participate in... unless we do it all again next year!

Will we do this again...you bet!!! Stay tuned for later in 2025, when we ask again if your child would love this opportunity to perform.

Check out a few of the photos and be amazed at the choir in their white shirts, the full cast photos, even crammed into the train on the way home on Friday night.
