Book Week

Ben Venue celebrates Book Week 2025

This year’s Book Week held in Week 5 was a fantastic success, with a variety of engaging activities that brought the joy of reading to life for all our students.

To build excitement leading up to Book Week, a competition was held where students were encouraged to design a bookmark to coincide with the CBCA Theme “Book An Adventure”. Congratulations to Brooklyn Tombs, Tilly Andersson, Sophia Walters and Greta Mulready who were the lucky winners of a $15 voucher each to spend at our book fair.

During Book Week, several classes participated in interactive Zoom sessions hosted by the NSW State Library. These sessions provided our students with unique opportunities to connect with authors and illustrators as well as explore books in an exciting virtual environment.

Our whole school Book Fair was held over two days, and thanks to the enthusiastic support of our school community, we raised over $1500 in commission. These funds will be used to purchase valuable new resources for our school library, further enriching the reading experiences available to our students.

Due to wet weather, Ben Venue adapted our plans and successfully held two separate Book Parades—one for Kindergarten to Year 2, and another for Years 3 to 6. Despite the challenges, the parades were lively and colourful celebrations of our students’ favourite book characters.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated teachers, Year 6 leaders, office staff, and parents whose support and hard work made these events possible. Your commitment to fostering a love of reading in our school community is truly appreciated.

Thank you and happy reading,
