What's Happening In Secondary

Child Care and Disability Support

This term we have begun a new subject in DCS Secondary: Child Care and Disability Support. Our Year 9 students have been learning about the development of young children with a special focus of the importance of the first thousand days. We've looked at the key developmental milestones for children and used this information to inform our observations of a Kinder class and a Year 1/2 PE class. We also got the opportunity to play games and interact with the Kinder students which was a lot of fun for all! Currently the class is working on their own designs of an early learning classroom, incorporating all we have learned about what young children need to thrive and learn well.
