 Father's Day - Sunday 7th September

We wish our school dads, and those who play a fatherly role in the lives of our children, a happy Father’s Day.

We think of the fathers who are unable to be with their children this Father’s Day.

We remember with love the fathers who have passed away.

You might find of interest this article recently posted on the Melbourne Catholic website.

It talks about 10 inspiring dads from the Bible and Catholic history.

Two new Saints being canonized this Sunday

Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati and Blessed Carlo Acutis are scheduled to be canonized together on Sunday, September 7, 2025, by Pope Leo XIV. Originally scheduled separately in April and July 2025, their canonizations were postponed and rescheduled together by the new pope.

Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati was known for his spirituality and love of the poor.

Blessed Carlo Acutis was known for his devotion to the Eucharist and for using technology to share the Good News of Jesus with others. Carlo also has the honour of being the first person born this century to be canonized, he is known as the millennial saint.

Pope Leo XIV's Prayer Intentions

September is dedicated to 'our relationship with all creation’.

Pope Leo XIV has asked the world to pray for love and respect of all creatures during the month of September.

Please try to find some quiet time in your busy day to pray Pope Leo's Prayer Intention for the month of September. Maybe make an effort to sit amongst nature, pause, reflect and thank God for all of creation.  Thank you

For Our Relationship with All Of Creation

Let us pray that, inspired by Saint Francis,

we might experience our interdependence with all creatures who are loved by God and worthy of love and respect.

Amen
