BOOK WEEK

Students had a fabulous time celebrating Book Week this year!  Students were able to engage with activities such as Book An Adventure board games, Book Week Kahoot quiz, visiting author; Jacqueline Graham, going on an adventure to find Where's Wally? around the school grounds, creating their own bookmarks from old books, author Zooms organised by the State Library of NSW, as well as our fabulous Book Week parade and Books with Buddies reading rotations.

Author visit

We were also very fortunate to have a visit from local Tamworth author Jacqueline Graham. Jacqui has written a series called 'Cottonwood Adventures'. It is a fabulous new series based on real life experiences on her farm, as readers follow the young girl Macy as she meets new friends and learns to bond with her new horse. Our students in Years 3-7 were able to speak with Jacqui regarding her writing processes, being published and her writing career in general.  We were also very fortunate that Jacqui brought her daughter Macy (the real-life person the character is based on) who was also more than happy to answer questions from the students..

Book Week Parade

Books with Buddies

During Books with Buddies, our Secondary students together with our staff, chose a book to read to a group of students.  The groups rotated around the stations listening to a variety of stories being read to them.

Scholastic Book Fair

Our annual Scholastic Book Fair was a fabulous chance for adults and children to purchase new books, fill up the present box or to just discover different book genres.

We appreciate your valued support of the Book Fair as every purchase made earns the Library rewards.  These rewards are redeemable through Book Club to spend on more books for our students!  It is very exciting to announce that this year was our best year yet!  Some of the rewards have already been used to purchase and/ or replace books!
