🌸 Spring Magic Market – A Wonderful Success! 🌸

What an amazing and fun day we had at the Spring Magic Market! The atmosphere was full of joy, colour, and community spirit. A huge congratulations and thank you to all the incredible volunteers who worked so hard to make this event happen — your time, effort, and energy made the day truly special.

Here at OSHC, we would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Uncle Trevor for joining us and generously sharing his Aboriginal artefacts with our families. It was a wonderful opportunity for children and families to learn, connect, and celebrate culture together.

The Spring Magic Market was a beautiful reminder of the strength and warmth of our school community — we can’t wait for the next one!

🌿 A Moment of Pride and Learning 🌿

This week, one of our little Preps painted a beautiful picture of people using Aboriginal dot art techniques. When asked who they were, she proudly said, “These are the Wurundjeri people.”

We couldn’t be more proud of this spontaneous and thoughtful expression. It shows how deeply our commitment to embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives is helping to shape young minds in the spirit of acceptance, recognition, and inclusion.

We share this moment with deep gratitude to our children, families, and community for walking alongside us on this journey.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the Wurundjeri Elders and community, whose knowledge, culture, and guidance continue to inspire and support our learning.

3. No Personal Devices at OSHC – Effective 1 September

To help keep all children safe and focused during their time at OSHC, we kindly remind families that personal devices such as mobile phones, tablets, and smartwatches with cameras are not permitted.

👉 Please note: This change is compulsory from 1 September, in line with the National Model Code and the new legislation 168 (2)(ha).

If a child brings a device, it will be safely stored and returned to their family at the end of the session. This forms part of our existing ICT, Television, and Mobile Policy, which is currently being updated to align with these new requirements around child safety and the use of personal electronic devices.

Here’s how we manage personal devices during OSHC:

  • At roll call, children will hand their device to the educator in charge.
  • Devices will be placed in a secure tub.
  • The tub will be locked away in the OSHC office.
  • Devices will be returned at the end of the session by the educator in charge of the middle room.

We appreciate your support and cooperation in keeping OSHC a safe, respectful, and child-focused environment.
