Foundation 2024 Transition

Exciting times! Yesterday we welcomed our Foundation students for 2024 to their first transition session. The theme for the afternoon was ‘Going on a Bear Hunt’. They were all extremely excited and bubbling with enthusiasm. We look forward to having them all return on Wednesday 18th October when the theme will be ‘Play with Clay’

Important Reminder

Just a reminder to parents and carers that the playground supervision by a staff member begins at 8.40 am until the bell rings at 8.50 am each morning and after school from 3.30 pm to 3.40 pm.

Recently there has been a growing number of students coming to school well before this time. The supervised area is the area where the students line up. On some occasions students will be asked to come to school early for a specific purpose but parents will be notified of this.

If you do need to have your child at school early TeamKids is available.

Working Bee

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the working bee but after talking to Michelle she said there were a great number of parents and students in attendance. I could see on my return to school on Monday that the school ground looked neat and tidy and under the play equipment new soft fall had been laid. It really makes such a difference. A huge thank you to all the wonderful families who were able to attend.

Parent’s Association

Thank you to our PA for preparing and selling the gifts at our recent Father’s Day stall. Thank you also to Michelle and Julie in the Office for ordering the gifts and their help in preparing them for sale. We raised a great total of $1195.86. I hope all our Dad’s had a great day!

Year 2 Stay Late

Our super enthusiastic Year 2 students enjoyed their Stay Late at school last Friday evening. A highlight from the feedback that I received was the ‘night walk’. There were sightings of possums and even a tawny frog mouth taking flight. Thank you to the teachers Jo and Jess for organising this valuable experience for the students and to Clare for helping on the night.

Aerobics

Finally, the excitement continues to build as final preparations are being made for the upcoming FISAF National Championships at the Gold Coast this Saturday. Our Aerobics teams have been training hard, we wish them all the very best for the competition ahead. Go Syndal!!

Have a great fortnight!
