SSV Intermediate Girls' Soccer State Championships

On Tuesday 29th August,  BHS qualified for the SSV Intermediate Girls' Soccer State Championships at the International Sports Centre in Darebin. The team was up against some tough opponents in Straughton College (1-3 loss, Goal Kicker – Zoe Maggi), Northcote High School (0-7 loss) & Mac Robertson High School (0-5). The results certainly didn’t go the way the team would have liked but it was a great learning experience for all involved. The positive news is that the entire team was made up of Year 9 students who will all get a chance to compete in the Intermediate Girls section next year.

SSV Year 7 Girls' Soccer State Championships

On Tuesday 5th September,  BHS qualified for the SSV Year 7 Girls' Soccer State Championships at the International Sports Centre in Darebin. The students were all very excited to be attending their first SSV State Championships! What the team was lacking in soccer skills they certainly made up for in enthusiasm! The team did have a tough day against some quality opposition. [Catholic College Wodonga (0-2 loss), Brunswick Secondary College (0-6 loss), McKinnon Secondary College (0-7 loss).

Head Coach Katie McAloon was extremely pleased with the girls resilience and positive attitude throughout the day in the face of some tough results.
