SSV Intermediate Boys' Soccer State Championships
On Thursday 31st August, BHS qualified for the SSV Intermediate Boys Soccer State Championships at the International Sports Centre in Darebin. The team confidence was high. Some of the opposing the teams featured a couple of high-level players.
Results included games against Notre Dame College (1-1 Draw, Goal Kicker - Harry Archibald), Aitken College (1-2 loss, Goal Kicker - Aiden Wiltsher), Dandenong High School (1-2 loss, Goal Kicker - Felix Murray).
Head Coach Rob Simmonds suggested that a couple of the games could have easily gone the team’s way and were unlucky not to qualify for the finals. It is a great sign for the future of BHS boys' soccer.

SSV Year 7 Boys' Soccer State Championships
On Friday 1st September BHS qualified for the SSV Year 7 Boys' Soccer State Championships at the International Sports Centre in Darebin. The self-belief amongst the students was sky high on the bus trip to the venue. It continued as the team headed into the matches, but unfortunately the results didn’t go their way with the following results; Greater Shepparton Secondary College (0-3 loss), Greensborough College (3-3 draw, Goal Kickers – Denver Minster, Harrison Drain, Jake O’Rourke), Kambrya College (1-2 loss, Goal Kicker – Denver Minster).
Head Coach Rob Simmonds noted the team played significantly better than the results suggested and were very unlucky in a couple of the matches. He added that this team will have a bright and strong future over the next 5 years of SSV Soccer.
