Principal's Message

Mrs Kaileen Carr

Book Week Parade - It was wonderful to see so many parents and carers at our book week parade this week. We thank you for supporting the school by making purchases at the book fair. This support will help us to purchase more fantastic books for our library for the students to read at school and borrow to take home to read.

A message from our Librarian Ms Davey - The Book Fair is in its final days! Thank you, everyone, for your support of our biggest fundraiser for the library, and for your patience on Tuesday!  The Book Fair is open 8.30 - 9.15 and 3.30 - 4.00 until tomorrow (Friday). Parents can still prepay online at www.scholastic.com.au/payments; please write the receipt number and amount paid on the wish list (attach copy if needed) or piece of paper and return the slip to the school.

NB: The books for the Book Fair can only be viewed ONSITE: books in the Book Club magazine must be ordered separately through the Book Club site. Sorry for any confusion this has caused. Thank you again and we look forward to sharing how much we've raised with you next week.

Fathers Day Breakfast - I look forward to seeing lots of fathers on Friday 1st September for a bacon and egg roll. Make sure you get your orders in as soon as possible.

Parent Writing Forum - Staff are busily getting prepared for our next parent forum and student disco to be held on Tuesday 29 August.

Session 1 Kinder Mrs Burden's room 3:45pm – 4:15pm

Session 2 Stage One Mrs Taylor's room 4:20pm – 4:50pm

Session 3 Stage Two Ms Charlton's room 4:55pm – 5:25pm

Session 4 Stage Three Mrs Owen's room 5:30pm – 6:00pm

We look forward to seeing many of you at these sessions.

Student mobile phones and devices -  We are seeing an increase of mobile phones and devices coming into school each day. Students are required to hand these devices into the office each morning and pick them up at the end of the day. If you or your child need to contact each other during school hours you can do so through the school office. Unfortunately we have had a phone go missing, if your child has a mobile at home and you are unsure where it came from, can you please contact the school. Students bringing phones and devices to school do so at their own risk.

Eglinton Public School attendance as at 24th August 2023

Last Week: 90.9%

This week: 90.8%

Goal: 95%

Did you know that for your child to achieve an attendance rate of 95% each term they should have no more than 2 days off.

You can check your child's attendance rate on the Sentral Parents App. Click on their photo, select 'Student Details' and click on 'Attendance'. Our expected student attendance rate is above 95%. To maintain an attendance rate of above 90% a student should have no more than 5 days off a term.

Thank you for supporting us in reaching our attendance goal. The data above shows our current student attendance for the last week. Please ensure you contact the school via the Sentral Parent Portal if your child has a day off to explain their absence.
