Principal's Report

Report from our Principal: Duncan Arendse

Dear Parents, Friends and Father Arsenio,

Thank you to the many people who enquired as to my health / whereabouts last week. I took part in an Indigenous Immersion experience with 18 of my principal colleagues. I met some amazing people in far north Queensland and the knowledge and culture of the traditional owners was astounding. It was a great learning experience and has left me with much to think about around Indigenous Education and the upcoming referendum.

My thanks to the P&F again for running tomorrows Father's Day breakfast. It is a little different to normal simply because we could not get the necessary volunteers required. It seems the demographics of our families is changing with many now having both parents tied up with work. Please feel free to let me know of what you believe is the best way forward, not only for events like the breakfast but also how we best tap into the volunteers.

We are canvassing parent opinion around moving to a 'straight' grade model, in other words moving from a composite model. No decision has been made and we are canvassing feedback on the notion. Ben has circulated a survey so please respond if you have an opinion on the matter.

Please be careful in our carpark. There are often unexpected movements given the number of students on site. Always cross at the crossing and please move slowly at all times.

Have a great week

Duncan
