National Child Protection Week 2023

National Child Protection week was this week. This year’s theme is “Where we start matters”. National Child Protection Week is all about the ways that we can all work together to build communities that support children and families.

Children are safest when they are listened to, respected and believed.

All adults can play a part by ‘tuning in’ to children in everyday situations about small worries; then they are much more likely to feel comfortable telling us if something big is wrong.

National Child Protection Week is a great time to start conversations with children and families about feeling safe.

Our student safety action team have made problem boxes for each space where children can write down any problems they are having and can’t approach the teachers to talk about it. They are also asking all children to identify who is in their network of trusted adults so they know who to ask for help if they feel unsafe.

Action for Happiness calendar

This month is self care September. Self-care means taking care of yourself so that you can be healthy, you can be well, you can do your job, you can help and care for others, and you can do all the things you need to and want to accomplish in a day. It is not selfish, it is essential. Try some of these ideas from this month’s calendar.
