Parent Opinion Survey Closes

With the beginning of Book Week on Monday students came to school dressed as a book character. There was plenty of excitement in the building, seeing everyone arrive in their costume, and then when we moved out to the quadrangle, the excitement rose, when we saw the dinosaur….. Many thanks to parents for your efforts. Everyone looked magnificent!

Yesterday we had Tash, who works in Wellbeing in the school come and read There’s no such book to us all. It had some great ideas for costumes for another time!

Today Mr Daff read Bev and Kev to us. Had some rhymes and tongue twisters!

Kinder Transition Meeting

We held our Kinder Transition Meeting Monday afternoon. Sharing what a day of school looks like and initial information to prepare for their first year of school. We look forward to seeing these students join us for our transition days in November.

Vision Screening

Reminder, if you would like your child to participate in this vision screening program, please complete the permission slip and return to Charlton P-12 College by next Tuesday 29th of August 2023. Many thanks to all those who have already returned their forms.

This is a chance to have Free Vision Screening, thanks to the Lions Eye Health Program. The screening will be conducted by trained LEHP Vision Screeners from within Lions Club District of 201 V1-4, on Friday 1st of September 2023.

Over 80% of what children learn is processed through their eyes. Untreated eye conditions can affect a child’s development. It is estimated 1 in 5 children in Australia have undetected vision problems. Screenings can help identify children who may require further eye review/testing.

Members of the Lions club have been specifically trained to perform 4 vision screening assessments including: Visual Acuity, Colour Vision, Depth Perception and Spot Vision Screener.

The individual screening takes just a few minutes to perform. There is no physical contact made with the child and no eye drops are administered. Individual reports will be sent to parents via the school network. If a vision problem is detected, this will be written on the child’s result sheet, and you will be encouraged to seek a further eye assessment with an eye health professional.

Open Numeracy Classes

Wednesday 6th September, we invite Parents, Grandparents and family friends of our F-6 students into our classrooms between 9.15am and 11.55am to see the structure of numeracy lessons in 2023. We are hoping the special visitors will share their experience of when they were at Primary School.

Collector Cards

Students should not be bringing collector cards (Football, Pokémon, Marvel, etc.) to school. We ask for parent assistance in this area. If children wish to swap cards this should be done in personal time, not at school please.
