The SWPBS Team is currently undertaking the next phase of training and with this we will see the addition of a consistent classroom matrix which will be developed. Our Berry Street training and Kimochi program support the aims of the SWPBS platform and are already in place. The aim of the matrix is to achieve whole school consistency and support our students in all learning spaces.
An invitation to attend a Cyber Safety information session has been extended to our parent/carers. We highly encourage you to register. Some staff have had the opportunity to hear Susan McLean speak on a previous occasion and it was extremely valuable information and an eye-opening experience.
The term 4 esafety parent webinar sessions available for term 4 are listed below.
Please visit Webinars for parents and carers | eSafety Commissioner for more information on times and dates.
We have been offered a great opportunity for a group of our year 5 and 6 students to participate in, free of charge. The I.A.M School Program is centered around an evidence - based mental health toolkit and coping planning resources. They are working with schools in Australia to teach students and their support system how to manage tough times in a proactive, skillful and healthy way. Each student will given their own toolkit that they can build on, work with and participate in workshops to build their understanding and skill set. Workshops will be held on Monday 23rd and Monday 30th of October and a parent information session is available to attend as per the Compass message. This program is supported by The University of Melbourne and The Melbourne Clinic. We look forward to welcoming them and also students from Darraweit Guim who will be joining us on the workshop days.
One of our school values is Positivity-
• A can do attitude
• Building relationships with each other
• Kind language and actions
We see ‘positivity’ develop through: respect, increasing self-awareness, optimism, acts of kindness, persistence, resilience, inclusion, acceptance, empathy, enthusiasm, positive growth mindsets, tolerance and school wide wellbeing
I'd like to make a special mention to our Year 5/6 cohort that attended camp this week. During our walking around the city, tours and experiences the overall positivity displayed by our students was amazing as they demonstrated the many ways in which we can show positivity. So many wonderful comments were shared about how enthusiastic, attentive and kind our students were. So, WELL DONE on representing yourselves, families and our school in such a positive way!
Learning and Safety were also highlighted in your actions, questions, comments, attentive listening and movement around the city too! Thank you for a wonderful camp experience!
