Noorat Down The Line Shoot

16 students made the trip to Noorat to compete against 250 students from the Western District. The competition was tough in all categories and we had many pleasing results. It was great to see several students competing for the first time in a down the line shoot.

The next competition is Tuesday 24th October at Warrnambool.

Training will commence after the school holidays - Friday 6th October at 4.00pm at Hamilton Gun Club, Hamilton Port Fairy Rd.

School Soccer Season 2023

The school soccer season started in Term 2 and we entered with high hopes after the previous year’s undefeated benchmark, however with a fresh new side, a new coach and some students not having played before I knew it was going to be an uphill battle.

The young team developed over the season and with some guidance and support from Rod Perry we began to find our correct positions and stay on the correct sides and overall have fun. Dylan McLachlan and Woody Perry took on the captain roles and began the leadership journey of working with each other’s strengths to help grow the team and support the coach.

While we didn’t win many, we certainly came close with each and every student growing in their skill development and had fun playing against the other schools of Good Shepherd, Monivae and College – many of these students being mates from their club soccer team.

Presentation night on Wednesday the 6th of September resulted in Bella Perry receiving overall Best Female Player for the competition and Dylan McLachlan receiving the trophy for Best and Fairest for the Baimbridge College team.

Our Baimbridge College Soccer Team would like to thank Hamilton Soccer Club as well as Sonia and Daniel Shaw for the organisation of the night competition and the students at lunch time each Monday who came and supported our training sessions by giving us a game. Finally Rod Perry for assisting us on Wednesday nights with coaching and team organisation.

We look forward to expanding our team for next year’s competition.

Inter School Netball

Wednesday the 26th of July saw three very optimistic Baimbridge netball teams travel up to Pedrina Park to compete in a tournament against several schools.

In the 7/8 team, we had 9 competitive players looking for a win. The first game we played was against St Brigid’s (Horsham) who beat us 11-1. This was a tough first game because we had never played together before. Next up was Monivae yellow. We had all improved in this game and we kept their score under control with the end result being 4-7 with us losing by 3.

We kept learning how each other played throughout the day and helped each other improve. We ended up winning 3 games out of 7. The teams we won against were College, Good Shepard, and Bayview blue. The 4 teams we lost to were St Brigid’s, Monivae blue and yellow, and Bayview yellow. Overall we all had a brilliant day.
