District Athletics
District Athletics and Prep – 2 House Athletics Day
Over the last two weeks, we have had two very important sporting events for CPS. On Friday 1st September, our Preps, Ones and Twos had their junior athletics carnival. It was a magical day for all the students that took part and everyone learnt a lot from the day especially the Preps. We cannot wait to see how our year 2 students go when they become eligible for our year 3-6 events next year!
On Thursday 7th September, 49 of our very talented athletes competed in the district athletics carnival. It was an incredible day, with lots of students getting personal bests and ribbons. Of the 49 students who attended, we now have 18 representing Carnegie Primary on October 6th in the Kingston Division carnival. Carnegie finished the District day in 3rd spot overall and represented our school proudly.
A very special mention to Annabel M for finishing 2nd in both of her events as an 8 year old. This is a fantastic achievement as she was competing a full year below the other students in her age group. We are very excited to see how far you can go in the future!
