Marian SWOT Week and Examinations or Years 9 - 12
Well done our Unit 3/4 VCE students for their positive approach and application in the
trial examinations over the holidays. These trial exams were designed to provide practice in exam skills and most importantly enable students to receive targeted feedback. Students should ensure that they use this feedback now as they continue their final preparations for the VCAA examinations.
Unit 3/4 classes conclude on Thursday 12 October and the Year 12 Celebration Morning is on Friday 13 October. We then have planned our Marian SWOT Week from Monday 16 October to Friday 20 October, to support students in the final stages of exam preparation.
During this week, each Unit 3/4 teacher will be available for students in the regular timetabled period in the usual classroom. It will be up to the teacher and students to plan and decide how these periods are used. For example, teachers may run a revision lecture, practice exam questions, small group tutoring or one-to-one conferencing/feedback. Teachers may vary what they offer in different periods. Students are invited and encouraged to attend but these sessions are not compulsory. Year 11 students are required to attend their Unit 3/4 SWOT Week classes.
There will be a whole English cohort revision lecture focusing on language and argument analysis in Period 1 on Wednesday 18 October when there is no timetabled class. Mr Vito Milana will facilitate this session for all English students.
The VCAA examination period for our Year 12s, and other students studying Unit 3/4
Studies, commences on Tuesday 24 October. We wish our students every success!
For Year 11 students, Marian Semester 2 Examinations commence on Wednesday 8 November and conclude on Wednesday 15 November. Year 10 Semester 2 Examinations are scheduled from 14 - 16 November and Year 9 Examinations run for two days on 15 - 16 November.
It is important that students plan and revise diligently for these examinations to assist their preparation for VCE in 2024 or beyond. The timetable will be published on the SEQTA Examination Information Portal Page for students and parents. Letters providing all details will be distributed shortly via Operoo.
