CLERGY APPOINTMENTS
On the recommendation of the College of Consultors, I am very pleased to announce the following clergy appointments:
Tatura and Kyabram
Parish Priest: Fr Uday Marneni ALCP/OSS, from 13 January 2024
Wodonga, Tallangatta and Corryong
Fr Andrew Fewings will lead the establishment of a Ministry Team in these parishes towards mid-2024, after undertaking a sabbatical in the first months of the year.

BISHOP ABSENCE FROM THE DIOCESE
Following the Synod Assembly, I will also be attending meetings of the Methodist-Catholic International Commission and the Australian Bishops Conference. I would be grateful for your prayerful support during these various undertakings. In all, I will be absent from the Diocese until Tuesday 14th November. During this time, Fr Joe Taylor will administer the Diocese as Vicar General. He can be contacted by phoning the Chancery or via this email address, which Tim Nolan will manage as usual.

WORLD MISSION SUNDAY 22nd OCTOBER
World Mission Sunday is a day set aside for the Catholic Church throughout the world to publicly renew its commitment to the missionary movement, coordinated by the Pontifical Mission Societies, who are also known asMissio. It is celebrated on the penultimate (next-to-last) Sunday of October every year, October 22nd, 2023. It was created by Pope Pius XI in 1926 as the day of prayer for missions. Closely related to Society for the Propagation of the Faith.

We have some 2024 Columban Mission art calendars available for sale for $10 each, available from gathering place.
MARIAN FESTIVAL
Please join us on October 15th at the Annual Marian Festival at Sacred Heart Cathedral to honour the Blessed Virgin Mary and entrust our diocese, our nation and the world to the protection of her Immaculate Heart. The Festival will be led by Bishop Leslie Tomlinson, beginning with Mass at 11am and continuing with devotions throughout the afternoon. Information: www.bendigofatima.com or call Wilma on 5439 6283.
SONGS OF PRAISE
A visit to Belgrave Heights for “Songs of Praise”. Enjoying fellowship and singing. Thanks to Walters Buslines, a 24 seater bus will be leaving Kyabram Transit Centre at 9.30am on Sunday 22nd October. The trip will take about 3 hours. Cost is $63 per person. A stop for lunch is planned at the South Belgrave “White Wolf” café, where you will be booked in to buy your own lunch. The cost for the concert is $10 ($5 conc).
Hope you can come and join in. Arrival home will be about 7.30pm.
