From Thomas's Dad:

I would like to share the exciting news that the boys from BBPS - Oscar, Will and Thomas competed in the 2023 Shepparton Cup last weekend (21-22 October) won Gold in the under 9s Shepparton Cup plate finals. The team was coached and led by Adrian (Oscar's dad). They played 6 matches over the two days and the team showed incredible determination and some great skills.

Olivia F (1B) and her sister Geneieve (Prep 2024) were lucky enough to have their photo taken at Oli and Arie before school. In the below photos you will see them with their grandparents, Jeffrey Browne (the president of Collingwood) and with the AFL Premiership Cup!

Tex "We are learning handwriting. If it is a 'trick' it is wrong and if it is a 'treat' it is written the right way. We are doing handwriting in a fun way because it is nearly halloween."

Keziah:  "We have been doing lots of spelling as part of our home learning. We are taking a word and we drop the last letter and add a suffix. For example, if you have the word 'make' you need to drop the e on the end and add the suffix 'ing'. "

Matisse:  "We have been doing a lot of writing. We have been focusing on descriptive writing and have been trying to add adjectives. We have also been using similes, which are where you compare one thing to another thing"

Frankie 3C : "We have been making graffiti art out of our names, and then we are putting it onto a picture of a brick wall so make it look like actual graffiti. We will put it up on a wall in the art room or near the office. Now that the Art Show is over we don't a lot of art left the walls!"

Thomas G 3C:  "It love art because it is creative. You can explore what you like and put it into the task you have at hand. I like drawing the most because you can explore a lot of creative options with pencils and paper. "

Warwick : "We are focusing on Wacky Races. We are switching between making our websites and building our billy carts. We are also learning about leadership and how to be a leader, to prepare for grade 6 leadership roles."

Luke D :  "We have been learning factions in maths. We have been playing fraction games. We have been using dice to generate fractions and then compete against someone  and the person who has three wins is the winner of the game"

Noah S :  " In the year 5 classrooms we have been learning about a fake job to give us some of knowledge about how to apply for a job and a leadership role. This good practise for when we need to apply for leadership positions in grade 6."
