Student achievements

Congratulations to the following students: 

Emily Hunniford-Webb (Year 6), who was crowned GKR Karate State Champion (10-11 year old girls), winning gold in the Kumite category and a silver medal in the Kata category at this month's GKR Karate 2023 Tasmania State Titles. Well done, Emily! A great result and reflective of your years of perseverance, discipline and hard work.

Hannah Grzinic (Year 7) and Evie Farrell (Year 8), who recently represented Tasmania for Women's Artistic Gymnastics at the Bigham Cup in South Australia. Hannah and Evie's state team of six took home the bronze medal, competing against gymnasts from Tasmania, Western Australia, South Australia, the Australian Capital Territory and Northern Territory. In a first for the team, Tasmania also won the shield for Best Overall. Such a fantastic experience for all involved. Well done, Hannah and Evie!

Laine Debnam (Year 9), who has been selected to represent Tasmania at the U15 Water Polo National State Championships in Canberra from 24-29 September. This is a fantastic achievement and is extremely well deserved. Good luck, Laine.

Hal Cormack (Year 9), who has been shortlisted in the 2024 Frank MacDonald Memorial Prize. The Frank MacDonald Memorial Prize is an essay-based competition which commemorates and preserves the meaning of the ANZAC spirit in the Tasmanian community. As a shortlisted candidate, Hal will participate in an interview process that will determine the prize winners. We wish Hal the very best for this next stage.
