Mrs Clare Grainger

Welcome back to a fresh new term – our final term of the year!  This term we are looking forward to our swimming program taking place in Kyneton during November, our F-2 students attending the District Schools Kickball Sports Day in early November as well as our School Athletics Sports Day in early December. It’s going to be a busy but enjoyable and active term!

We commenced our Health and PE classes last week with some team building activities and games across all year levels, focusing on inclusion, encouragement and cooperation.

This week, we enjoyed the beginning of our Kickball unit in the Grade F-2 class and our Handball unit in the Grades 3/4 and 5/6 classes.  We will continue to focus on these over the next few weeks before diving into some Volleyball (Grade 3-6), throw, catch and ball bounce skill work (F-2), athletics and of course our swimming, which will be taking place on Fridays in November (see dates below).

Over the first two sessions of this term, we also discussed the many benefits of physical activity, the daily recommendations for physical activity and how we can achieve this, as well as how we can ensure physical activity is safe and enjoyable for ourselves and others.  This term, as part of our Health studies, we will also be exploring health messages, community influence on health and wellbeing as well as strategies to support our health, safety and wellbeing.

Looking forward to a fantastic term 4!
