Committee Update

On Monday night we didn’t quite reach the quorum required to hold the Special General Meeting. However, as per the club’s constitution, casual vacancies can be filled by the Committee.

At the Committee meeting held last night, the following appointments were made:

• President: Joel Downie
• Vice President: Penny Wang

We would also like to inform you that Selina stepped down from her role as Treasurer shortly after the AGM, and this position has now been filled by Dale Eriksen.

The appointment of Joel and Penny completes the formation of both the Committee and the Executive Committee, which now consists of Joel (President), Penny (Vice President), Jackie (Secretary), and Dale (Treasurer).

The Committee also had a very productive meeting, with lots of positive discussion and planning for the club’s future. We’re currently working on a Club Development Plan, refining our values, purpose, and slogan to reflect who we are and where we’re heading as a club.

Other key discussions included:

• The Head Coach position and plans for advertising.
• Two planned talks for swimmers and parents, provided by Thrive Sports Medicine – more details to follow.
• Next week, the Committee will meet with a sports governance consultant, provided by Swimming Victoria, to ensure the club remains compliant and continues to follow best practices.

We’re excited about the direction the club is heading and appreciate everyone’s ongoing support as we continue to build a strong, inclusive, and successful Ringwood Swimming Club.
