Hello from the Autism Inclusion Teacher,
Statewide Inclusive Education Services (SIES) Visit
Today we had the pleasure of welcoming Candice and Maria from Statewide Inclusive Education Services (SIES). They led an informative session for parents on how SIES partners with teachers, support staff, and families to support students with disabilities and learning difficulties.
One exciting aspect discussed was the SIES resource library for parents. Families are encouraged to borrow resources to help support their child’s learning and development. These resources are designed to complement classroom learning and provide practical strategies for home use.
Resources available include:
- Educational games and numeracy/literacy kits
- Social and emotional regulation supports
- Gross and fine motor
- Assistive technology tools and sensory aids
- Visual supports, such as communication boards and social stories
- Books on inclusive education and parenting strategies
