Term 4 Week One

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is with deep sadness that I write this newsletter.

During the holidays, Valentino Lunardi passed away, surrounded by his family. Valentino was the loving husband of Sabrina and father of Christian (Year 12), Sebastian (Year 8), and Angelica (Year 2).

This week, we also received the very sad news that George Fernandes, father of Isaiah in Year One, has passed away. He leaves behind his wife, Carolyn, and their son Isaiah.

At times like these, we are reminded of the strength, faith, and compassion of our Catholic community. We come together in prayer, care, and presence, supporting one another as we hold both the Lunardi and Fernandes families in our hearts.

 Loving God,

We ask You to wrap Your arms around the Lunardi and Fernandes families.

Grant them comfort, strength, and peace in their grief.

May our community hold them in prayer and surround them with love.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

We know that experiencing the loss of someone can be confusing and upsetting, and we may all feel a mix of emotions, sadness, shock, or uncertainty. What matters most is that we continue to support and care for one another.

Our Wellbeing Leaders, Vicky and Bianka, along with our School Psychologist, are available to provide guidance and support to any member of our community who may need it. Teachers are also helping students process their feelings in age-appropriate ways and answer their questions honestly.

For families, the following resource offers practical advice on talking with children about death: How to Talk About Death – Raising Children Network

Our hearts and prayers are with the Lunardi and Fernandes families and their friends during this very difficult time.

With compassion,

Manuela
