From the Year Prep Classroom

Welcome Back to Term 4!

Welcome back to our final term for 2025! We hope you all had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday, with plenty of quality family time and a little bit of sunshine along the way.

Term 4 is always such a special time in Prep. This is when we really see the students take off both in their learning and in their confidence. It's incredibly rewarding to witness the progress they make, especially in their reading and writing. You’ll start to notice your child writing more independently and beginning to include a few more descriptive words in their writing. It's a joy to see their confidence grow as they start expressing their ideas more clearly on the page.

In Maths, students are recognising and using more numbers and becoming increasingly confident with addition and subtraction, often with much bigger numbers than before! Our students will also deepen their understanding of collecting data and analysing the data as well as a better understanding about money and build their skills in telling the time using both analogue and digital clocks.

Beyond academics, the growth in independence and resilience is equally impressive. It's clear to see that our prep students are beginning to step up and show they’re ready to take on the challenges of Year 1 in 2026.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re looking forward to a fantastic final term together and we hope you enjoy the longer days and beautiful spring weather around Yarrawonga!

Take care and please reach out if you need anything - Prep Team

A Couple of Little Reminders

· Library Books – Please remember to return library books every Friday so your child can borrow a new one for the week.

· Blue Reading Satchels – Keep returning every Friday as well. This allows us to check how your child is progressing with their reading at home and helps us choose new books suited to their level.

· Tricky Words – Keep practising those tricky words at home! Regular practice is really helping your child build confidence with both reading and writing.
