From the Year 6 Classroom

We’re excited to begin the final term of primary school for our Year 6 students, a term filled with celebration, learning, and plenty of memorable moments. There’s so much to look forward to, including school camp, Kanga Cricket, transition days, the Christmas concert and of course, graduation!

Last Term Year 6 students enjoyed a fun and educational excursion to Beechworth. They explored the historic Beechworth Gaol, learning about its fascinating past, before finishing the day with a sweet stop at the famous Beechworth Lolly Shop. It was a fantastic way to wrap up the term and spend time together outside the classroom!

In Literacy, we’re continuing our novel study Can You See Me. As some students were away towards the end of last term, your child may bring home their class novel to catch up on any missed chapters.

In Mathematics, we’ll be wrapping up our Measurement unit before moving into Location and Transformation.

In Religion, we’re beginning our new unit Living Like a Disciple, and in Inquiry, we’re concluding our exploration of the systems of government before starting an exciting new Science topic.

The Year 6 students have been enjoying the introduction of new lunchtime activities such as Nine Ball and Volleyball. It’s wonderful to see them working together and staying active during break times.

It’s set to be a busy and rewarding term, a wonderful way to finish off the primary school journey!
