From the Year 5 Classroom

Welcome back to the start of Term Four! We have a number of events happening this term for our Year Five students as they get ready to transition into Year Six. From kinder visits to representative sport, a leadership day, Christmas Concert, an end of year trip to Shepparton plus plenty more. See below for a more detailed list of events and dates.
We welcome Miss Emma McQueen in 5L for the first three weeks of the term. Mrs. Lawless is on Long Service Leave.

Home Reading
Year 5 students continue to be encouraged to read at home for a minimum of 80 minutes per week. This is to be recorded in their school diary. Diaries will be checked by class teachers each Friday.
Literacy
Our Year 5 students are reading the class novel, The Last Bear by Hannah Gold and focusing on persuasive letters in the next few weeks.
Maths
Our Year 5's will be exploring Data Representation and Fractions, Decimals and Percentages in Weeks 1-4.
Inquiry
Animal Survival is the focus of our Inquiry unit.
Religious Education
The students will be studying a unit about ‘Living as Disciples’.
