English Curriculum Update

This year, we have transitioned to teaching using the updated English 2.0 Victorian Curriculum. This revised curriculum continues to support strong literacy development and aligns with our evidence-based teaching practices. Please note that while the curriculum content has been updated, there will be no changesto our reporting style for Semester One.

The nature of the Victorian Curriculum is that students can be graded on standards from the middle of Foundation (Prep) through to the end of Year 10. For students in our Foundation (Prep) grade who are not yet ‘At Standard’ and are working ‘Towards Foundation Level’ (TFL), a TFL grade of A–D may be allocated. Our Prep teachers will address this at the Parent-Teacher Conferences at the beginning of Term Three and provide you with more information about your child’s progress and achievements thus far.

We are looking forward to sharing our Semester One reports with you all. They are due to be sent home in the final week of this term.

Our reports will be sent home via theParent Portal of nForma. Please ensure you are able to access the portal ahead of time. If you experience any difficulties over the next week or so, feel free to contact me via email at: kfp@hsringwoodnth.catholic.edu.au

I’m sure we can work together to get it sorted quickly.

A permission slip will be sent home to all families that enrol their child/children into an English and/or Mathematics ICAS Assessment closer to the assessment date.

There’s still time to get involved in the Premiers’ Reading Challenge! All students are encouraged to take part by logging the books they read and working towards completing the challenge. Happy reading!
