Education in Faith

Celebrating a very special moment!

Our Year 3 children will receive their First Eucharist

This weekend, our school community will joyfully celebrate a very special milestone as 23 of our Grade 3 students receive their First Eucharist. This beautiful sacrament marks an important step in their faith journey, as they receive the Body of Christ for the very first time.

Throughout their preparation, these children have shown great enthusiasm and reverence, learning about the meaning of Eucharist, a sacred gift that unites us with Jesus and with each other. Their excitement is clear as they gather with family, friends, and teachers to share in this blessed moment.

Receiving the Eucharist is not only a celebration but also a call to live with kindness, love, and compassion, qualities these young members of our community are already demonstrating.

We congratulate each child and thank the families and our teachers who have supported them along their journey of faith.

May this special day inspire them to continue growing in faith and to always carry the light of Christ in their hearts.

With a grateful heart, we would also take this opportunity to thank Fr. Fabian in commissioning and preparing these children through faith formation sessions.

Thank you to Fr. Antony for conducting Mass and reconciliation, and for leading a reverent and inspiring Retreat session on Tuesday, 17th June.

The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ - Year C

This week’s feast celebrates the incredible gift of the Eucharist - the Body and Blood of Christ. In the Gospel, Jesus shares bread and wine with his disciples at the Last Supper, telling them these are his body and blood given for us. This simple meal becomes a powerful sign of God’s love and presence with us.

The Eucharist is more than just bread and wine; it is a sacred meal that unites us with Jesus and with each other as the Church community. Every time we celebrate the Eucharist, we remember Jesus’ sacrifice, his love, and how he invites us to live in unity and care for one another.

Jesus gives us this gift so that we may be nourished - not only physically but spiritually and strengthened to follow his example of love, service, and compassion.

Discussion Starters:

  • Why do you think Jesus chose bread and wine to share with his disciples?
  • How does receiving the Body and Blood of Christ help us feel closer to Jesus?
  • What does it mean to be “nourished” by Jesus? Can you think of ways we are fed in our daily lives?
  • How can we show love and care to others as Jesus teaches us?
  • Why is it important for us to come together as a community to celebrate the Eucharist?

If you have any further questions regarding your child receiving these Sacraments, please feel free to contact me at the school.

God Bless,

GRADE 5/6 SOCIAL JUSTICE TEAM – MINI VINNIES

MINI VINNES ACTION TEAM

Mini Vinnies have been invited to a School Conference Networking Event organised by the St Vincent de Paul Youth Engagement Team. We will join other primary schools in our local area and students will have the opportunity to connect, collaborate, and celebrate their social justice efforts with other schools’ Mini Vinnies.

Our school was invited to bring student representatives to meet with peers from sister schools and present on ONE Good Works project from this year. The event will include opportunities for students to collaborate in workshops organised by the St. Vincent de Paul Youth Engagement Team.

On Monday we discussed the expectations for attending the day. Students will need to prepare a presentation of an action we have taken this year. They will then need to present this on the day. Grade 6 students were given the first opportunity to express interest and currently we have 8 students who are interested in attending.

Attendance will be confirmed next Monday and then an Operoo notification posted for the relevant students for parents to give permission.
