Maths Olympiad Update – Tarneit Rise Students Shining!

Our Tarneit Rise students have made a strong start to this year’s Maths Olympiad competition, demonstrating fantastic problem-solving skills and resilience as they work through challenging mathematical questions.

We are excited to share that in the first round, our students performed above the national average on several questions. Here's how our school's results compare to students across Australia:

  • Question A: 100% of our students answered correctly (national average: 54.85%)
  • Question B: 36.67% of our students answered correctly (national average: 54.90%)
  • Question C: 20.00% of our students answered correctly (national average: 44.48%)
  • Question D: 33.33% of our students answered correctly (national average: 21.54%)
  • Question E: 53.33% of our students answered correctly (national average: 21.04%)

We’re particularly proud of our students’ performance on Questions A, D, and E, where they significantly outperformed the national average. This shows not only their growing confidence in problem-solving but also their ability to think critically and persist through tricky problems.

As the competition continues, we look forward to seeing even more growth and success. A big congratulations to all our Olympiad students—you’re doing Tarneit Rise proud!

Maths Games Update – Tarneit Rise Students Excel!

Our amazing students have been working hard in the Maths Games competition, a fun and challenging event designed to strengthen problem-solving and critical thinking skills through engaging, multi-step problems.

We’re proud to share that our students from Tarneit Rise have performed above the national average on all questions in the first round. Here's a comparison of our school’s results with national averages:

  • Question A: 60% of our students answered correctly (national average: 58.31%)
  • Question B: 83.33% of our students answered correctly (national average: 56.58%)
  • Question C: 90.00% of our students answered correctly (national average: 46.29%)
  • Question D: 30% of our students answered correctly (national average: 22.57%)
  • Question E: 46.67% of our students answered correctly (national average: 21.99%)

Key Highlights:

  • Tarneit Rise students scored significantly above the national average on all five questions!
  • In particular, Question C saw an outstanding 90% success rate from our students—nearly double the national average.
  • The results show the strength of our students’ logical reasoning, perseverance, and mathematical creativity.

We’re incredibly proud of our Maths Games participants for embracing the challenge and demonstrating excellence. We look forward to seeing how they continue to grow and shine in the coming rounds. Keep up the fantastic work, mathematicians!
