Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,
As we approach the end of another busy and rewarding term, we’d like to take a moment to congratulate all of our students on an exceptional term of learning and effort. The growth, resilience, and enthusiasm shown across all year levels have been truly inspiring, and we are so proud of each and every child.
Please note that next Friday is the last day of Term 2, and school will finish early at 2:30pm. We ask families to ensure appropriate arrangements are made for this earlier finish time.
School Reports & Parent-Teacher Interviews
Student school reports will be sent home next week, providing insights into each child’s progress, achievements, and areas for continued growth.
Looking ahead to Term 3, Parent-Teacher Interviews will be held on Thursday 24th July. Please note that this year, the interviews will be teacher-led, rather than student-led. Students are not required to attend these interviews. The interviews are an important opportunity for families and teachers to discuss your child’s learning journey and how we can continue to support their development.
Extra-Curricular
At Tarneit Rise Primary School, we are proud to foster leadership opportunities that empower our students and help them grow into confident, responsible young people. Our Student Leadership Program provides a range of formal roles across different year levels. In Year 6, students can take on responsibilities as School Captains and House Captains, representing the school community and leading by example. Our Year 5 Values Captains promote our school’s core values through everyday actions and special initiatives. In Year 4, students can participate in the Junior School Council, where they have a voice in school decisions and contribute to creating a positive school environment. We are incredibly proud of all our student leaders and the way they uphold our values and inspire their peers.
Thank you to everyone for supporting the Junior School Councillors fundraising event this week – PJ Day. All net raised will be donated to the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Please take some time over the next couple of days to look at our school website and take the virtual tour. Our junior school councillors feature in the tour, and we could not be prouder of them!
We were so proud of our nice students who entered the French poetry competition last month.

All students put many hours of practice to deliver an outstanding performance. The competition was very close, and all of our students received high scores of over 90%. Nalan, Advaita and Daniel made into the finals and completed their final rounds on the Sunday 15th June.
The results will be announced on the Alliance Française de Melbourne website on the 8th of October.
Our choir of 37 children is also engaging in an amazing extracurricular opportunity. This year the choir is participating in the Victorian State Schools Spectacular program. This is an invaluable performing arts opportunity for Victoria’s government primary and secondary school students that showcases and unites government school communities through working towards a common goal of more students reaching the highest level of achievement in the arts, ensuring kids are happy, healthy and resilient, and building pride in our schools. Our choir is part of the Victorian State Schools Spectacular, massed choir. The children have been practicing hard learning several songs and this has involved travelling to other schools in Western Melbourne for combined rehearsals. The Victorian State Schools Spectacular will be held at the John Cain Area on September 13th.
Start of Term 3 Reminder
Term 3 will begin on Monday 21st July, and Monday, 28th July is a pupil-free day. Staff will be working with consultant Joe Ybarra from Dataworks (USA) and continuing our work on explicit direct instruction to further enhance teaching and learning practices across the school.
Thank You
We wish all of our students and families a wonderful and relaxing break. Thank you for your continued support, partnership, and engagement in your child’s learning. We look forward to another exciting and productive term ahead!
Warm regards,
Nadia Bettio – Principal
