Regional AFL team event postponed

Due to the weather this event has been postponed until early Term 3. More details will be provided top families soon.

Division Basketball Tryouts:

We are excited to be getting our basketball teams ready for Term 3 Division Basketball. There will be tryouts taking place on the below dates for Grade 5/6 students at lunchtime. Don’t forget your P.E. shoes. If you are unable to attend these tryouts due to absence but wish to be considered for the team, please notify Claire Morris within 24 hours of the tryout.

27 June 2025 – Girls Division Basketball Tryouts (Grade 5/6 girls)
1 July 2025 – Boys Division Basketball Tryouts (Grade 5/6 boys)

Teams will be announced in the first week of Term 3. For those students selected for the teams, training will take place at lunchtime in Week 2 and 3, Term 3.

Term 3 Afterschool Netball:

Students have the opportunity to join a team in the Darroch Afterschool Netball Competition at Llanberris Netball Stadium. These will be run on Tuesday afternoons (game times expected to be 4:05pm, 4:55pm and 5:45pm) in Term 3 (commencing 29 July 2025, running for eight weeks). The competition will run for eight weeks. Finals will run in the Grade 5/6 competition and a round robin final day for the Grade 3/4 competition.

This is not a staffed event, and parents/guardians are responsible for all aspects of their child's participation (transport, supervision, first aid, etc). Grade 3-6 students (boys and girls) interested in joining a team will need to register via Compass and make payment before 2 July 2025. Please note that we will endeavour to include all interested students and preferred days. Teams will be decided by Claire Morris and will be based around the groups of Grade 3/4 and Grade 5/6.

The non-refundable initial cost of $30 will need to be paid upon registration closing (2 July 2025). There will be an additional cost for VNA (insurance) if your child does not already have this and the possibility of an additional team payment (this is dependent on numbers, and we expect it to be around $10). A refund will be given to those not placed in a team. Uniform will be provided this year and the hire of these is included in the cost. As this is not a staffed event and we will require parental assistance at the game to coach and score. Please indicate on the registration form if you are interested in filling the coaching/scorer's roll. N.B. teams will not be entered without a designated coach.

What to bring to P.E.:

Just a reminder for all students to bring with them their P.E. shoes, drink bottles and hats to their P.E. classes. A different pair of sports shoes need to be brought to P.E. as per the uniform policy. This allows us to keep safe and make the most of our lessons together. Thanks to everyone who continues to remember these.
