This Fortnight In Literacy and Integrated Studies

By Zavier and Deborah 6SC

Integrated studies project work has been in full swing in the leadup to the whole school expo. During this time students have been creating their own dioramas about their endangered animal. They hope to show why it is endangered, how we can help and how hard they have worked (obviously ). To aid with this, they have also been creating their own explanation texts and awareness posters. Students will continue to work hard and we all can’t wait for you to see our work!

Numeracy

By Daniel in 6SB

For numeracy in the past fortnight students have been looking at 3D shapes  and how right prisms are made.  Students are learning about congruent bases, lines and how they make a right prism. In case you didnt know, a right prism is a three-dimensional geometric shape with two congruent, parallel polygon-shaped bases and rectangular sides that are perpendicular to the bases. Essentially, it's a prism where the joining edges and faces are at right angles to the bases.

We have also been continuing our exploration on decimals by adding, subtracting and rounding them.
