Photo Update:

Caelia from room 11 admired the beautiful Ei Katu that Eve, the principal of Apii Vaitau was wearing, so Eve presented it to her as a gift.

Caelia's reaction - above - was priceless!

Max Talbot is a past student of Western Heights. He was always a gifted athlete and has a bright future ahead of him.

I'm a huge fan of Max, and now that the Blues are picking him up, I'll have to support any Blues team he plays for.

PS:

Proud Mum Monique works in our office and junior classrooms.

A huge THANK YOU for supporting and encouraging the 100-Day coin donations towards World Vision. We raised $440.90, with more coins still coming in! I think this is the most we've ever raised during the 100-day celebrations! Please continue to send any extra coins to either me or Julie in the office. A big thank you to Julie for hand-counting every single coin too!

Thanks all,

Lauren 🫶🏼

Former student Matilde at the TOI event.

It was huge!! Her garment was called Plas-Tide.

They had a full-length catwalk to walk down, and then a foyer room to walk through. A sold-out audience of over 750 people.

218 garments from 31 schools.

Matilde was the only student from Glen Eden Intermediate to participate this year. She designed, made and modelled her garment. So proud of her.

Plas-Tide

My design represents the suffering of marine life as the ocean is flooded by plastic waste. Every year, 500 million kilograms of plastic enter the ocean, harming fish, turtles, seabirds and marine mammals.

With a plastic bottle taking 450 years to degrade, our sea life is drowning. Plas-tide is a call for us to rethink our habits and protect our ocean. If we don't act now, we face a future where the ocean is no longer a place of life, but a tide of plastic that silences everything within it.
