Pentecost

This weekend, our church celebrated the Feast of Pentecost.

Pentecost is a special day when we remember how the Holy Spirit came to Jesus’ disciples after He had returned to heaven. As they gathered together, a strong wind filled the room and flames like tongues of fire appeared above their heads. The disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, so people from many nations could understand them.

This significant event gave the disciples the courage to go out and share Jesus’ message with the world.

Pentecost is often called the "birthday of the Church" as it marks the beginning of the Church’s mission to spread the Good News to all people.

At Pentecost, we celebrate Jesus’ promise that we would not be alone. Before returning to His Father, Jesus breathed His life into us through the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who lives in us, guides us and helps us to live the message of the Gospel.

Pentecost is a beautiful reminder to pause and reflect on the gifts of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The Holy Spirit brings peace, courage, understanding, and guidance—especially when we make time to listen and open our hearts.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill our hearts with your fire.

Guide us with your wisdom, strengthen our faith,

and help us share God’s love with the world.

Amen.

God Bless,
