Thank you to all parents who took the time to review the books sent home on Friday and for writing feedback and messages of encouragement for your child. I hope your child's books have sparked wonderful discussions at home, helping to reinforce your child’s learning and engagement. If your child's book is still at home, please be sure to return the books to school as the students need these to complete work.
Developing self-help skills and fostering independence in children are fundamental components of healthy development and long-term wellbeing. Encouraging children to take responsibility for everyday tasks enhances their confidence, autonomy, and problem-solving abilities which are key attributes that contribute to their resilience.
Practical, age-appropriate routines such as having children clear their own plates after meals, do their bed, pack their school bags and dress themselves promote a sense of ownership and competence. These small but meaningful responsibilities help children build executive functioning skills like planning, organisation and self-regulation.
I encourage all families to integrate these practices into daily routines.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support. We look forward to engaging with you during the upcoming interviews.
