Grade 5 

To finish off our Matter Unit, students learnt about non-Newtonian fluids. A non-Newtonian fluid is a special substance that changes how it flows when a force is applied. 

What better way to learn about it by making some slime. Corn flour and water act like a solid when squeezed or hit but flow like a liquid when poured slowly. 

Year 4 

Year 4 students have been exploring heatwaves and extreme weather, investigating how deforestation, urbanisation and green spaces can impact soil temperatures. They then put their learning into action by working in groups to design and build a heatwave shelter that could provide shade, stay cool and withstand strong winds.  

Year 2

Year 2 students were excited to welcome Kat and Skye from Coliban Water for a fun and informative incursion. 

During this session, students listened to an engaging story, discussed the importance of water in our everyday lives, and explored where our water comes from. They also learnt about the water cycle and put their learning into action by creating their very own water wheels.  

Foundation 

Foundation students have been learning about experiments, particularly how to make a prediction.  Last week we tested which ball material results in the highest bounce.
