2027 Foundation Transition Program
At St Francis of the Fields, we are committed to supporting every child as they take their first steps into primary education. Our Foundation Transition Program has been carefully designed to help children feel safe, connected, and valued as members of our school community before they officially begin their learning journey.
1. Foundation Interview with the Principal or Deputy Principal
The Foundation Interview provides an opportunity for your child and their parents/carers to meet with the Principal or Deputy Principal. During this meeting, we will get to know your child and gain an understanding of their readiness for school.
Your child will be invited to participate in a range of short, age-appropriate activities that help us learn more about their strengths, interests, and developmental readiness for school.
2. Foundation Transition Sessions - Monday, 9 Nov & Tuesday, 24 Nov 2026
These two 45-minute transition sessions provide an opportunity for children to meet some of our Foundation teachers and begin forming connections with other students who will be starting school alongside them.
During each session, children will participate in engaging activities led by our Foundation teachers in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Parents and carers are invited to remain at school during these sessions and attend an information session with Tim Moloney (Principal) and Grace Scalora (Deputy Principal). This session will provide valuable information about our school, routines, and procedures, while also offering an opportunity to ask questions.
3. Orientation Day
Tuesday, 8 December 2026
Orientation Day is an exciting opportunity for all students across the school to spend time with their 2027 classroom teacher and classmates.
Foundation students will join their future classmates and teacher for one hour, participating in activities designed to help them become familiar with their new learning environment and begin building positive relationships.

New students in Years 1-6 are invited to attend our Orientation Day on Tuesday, 8 December 2026.
