Resilience, Rights & Respectful Relationships:
Grade 1/2 Murphy have had a wonderful first week getting to know each other and revisiting our school values. This has aligned extremely well with our Respectful Relationships lesson which was looking at all different emotions and identifying when our peers are happy, sad, worried or excited. We also had some great discussions about us all being different, which we decided was awesome! Some of us like sport, others don’t, some of us like writing, others don’t…and the list went on.
Here are some photos of us playing the Mirror game and using our finest acting skills to display emotions.

Play Safe at School
As part of our Start Up program, all classes are revising school wide documents like our Play Safe at School map, which shows us where it is safe to walk and where it safe to run. Especially when we have new students and new Preps, we are really proud of all those students who can show us how safely they can move on our walkways and around buildings.
Classroom Matrix of Expected Behaviours
All classes are beginning to develop their own new Matrix that shows how we expect each other to behave in the classroom. These are incredibly important to the smooth running of our classrooms and are developed as a class.
Students are encouraged to think about how they show Respect, Responsibility and Resilience thoughout their day in each of the different activities we do. These elements are then used to create a Matrix of expected behaviours that are owned by everyone.
