From the Leadership Team

You may have heard a loud noise at about 1:55pm on Tuesday soon after Mr Baird uttered the three magic words, “you are dismissed.” Both students and staff cheered unanimously about the thought of the upcoming holiday ahead. Our cheer is a celebration of the change in routines to our lives, of possible Christmas celebrations and spending time with friends and family.

I wonder if it is also a celebration of a moment that defines the end of the year that has been.

As parents, you will likely look back at the memories of 2024 and defining moments for your children; a good test, a late assignment, a memorable night at Learning Conversations, a challenging homework task or the hem on their uniform that needed lengthening....again!

While your children have navigated a challenging year with the myriad of tasks that we, as educators, throw at them, you too have navigated the year.

Think about the communication you have consumed across emails, Canvas and TASS; the help you have provided your child, so they present themselves well every day; the difficult conversations, homework and deadlines; meeting your children’s friends, navigating their social choices; and everything in between.

Well done one and all.

The relationship between child/teacher/school and home is a critical one and we are grateful for your care and support.

As a College we will take time to reflect on our practices and seek to be a better version of ourselves in 2025. Schools are complex and there is always room for improvement.

We wish every family a very blessed Christmas holiday break and do hope that it provides rest and reflection.

Be safe and we look forward to seeing you in the new year.
