Dear Families,

Happy New Year and welcome to St John Vianney's School for 2025! I trust that you all enjoyed a beautiful Christmas and or the summer break with  your family and friends and that you are feeling refreshed and renewed for the beginning of our school year!  How blessed were we to enjoy such good weather!! 

To all our new families, we extend a very warm welcome as you begin your association with our school. We are so excited to have you and your family join us on on a wonderful journey of learning and growth. Whether your child is starting  their first day in Foundation or joining us further along we are are here to support and celebrate with you! We hope that the years ahead are blessed;  full of learning and positive experiences  for your children and yourselves!

2025 - School Arrival Time, Gate Opening & Bell Times

Please note the following changes for 2025:

The school gates will open at 8.30am, but the music to enter the classroom will begin at 8.40am to ensure the school complies with the Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA).

The roll will be taken at 8.45am.

All students upon arrival will be asked to wait on the assembly/basketball court outside the staff room until the music begins and student move into their classrooms. Supervision will start on this area at 8:30am.

2025 Recess and Lunch times 

PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE:

In 2025, the school timetable will be adjusted to allow for two 2-hour learning blocks before lunch, followed by one 1-hour learning block after lunch. As part of these changes, recess will be earlier in the day and lunch will be later.

Here are the updated times for recess and lunch:

Recess Eating Time: 10:50am - 10:55am

Recess Outside Playtime: 10:55 am - 11:25am

Lunch Eating Time: 1:25pm - 1:35pm

Lunch Outside Playtime: 1:35pm - 2:15pm

We hope these changes will help support a productive and balanced school day! 

Lunar New Year

We wish all our families who are celebrating Lunar New Year every blessing for a wonderful year, filled with hope and prosperity!

No Canteen this week!

Canteen orders  will begin on Wednesday 5th February.

School Photos - SchoolPix

A reminder that school Photos will be taken on MONDAY 10th February.  Students are to wear Summer Uniform and black shoes. 

M-City Christmas Tree Art Competition

Congratulations to SJV!!!  We were awarded 2nd place in the Christmas Tree Art competition at MCity. Thanks to all our families and our friends  who voted for our school. Please see the results and prizes below:

Working With Children Check

A reminder to all our parents and grandparents that should you wish to volunteer on excursions, as classroom helpers, at sports events (including our House Sports Day) we must have your current Working With Children Check Card on file. If you have one currently, please bring in or email to the office at
