Ms Brea Terris

Dear Families,
What an amazing year it has been at Swan Hill North Primary School in 2024. I would like to congratulate our students on their efforts and the growth they have achieved in their learning. The students should be proud of their efforts.
This year has been so exciting with the plans for our new buildings approved and the funding guaranteed in the State Budget. The build we begin in 2025. This is so exciting for the SHNPS community. The new build will allow for us to ensure we have facilities that match the educational philosophies of SHNPS.
The masterplan reveals state-of-the-art facilities, including a STEM space for science, technology, and art subjects, modern classrooms – each equipped with a small wellbeing office, a new administration building, and a shared central space.
SHNPS has a strong focus on learning and wellbeing, with staff dedicated to ensuring individual needs are met.
The staff have focussed on professional learning related to reading in 2024. This will continue to be our focus in 2025 as we are watching our students become even more accomplished readers.
Recent data showed 92 per cent of students felt a strong sense of inclusion. This gets back to our belief as a school that all our students can learn and belong to a community.
We have continued to welcome many new students to SHNPS this year and this is continuing into 2025.
As we reflect on the school year the students talk about many things that they loved including camps. We have many students who have participated in the High Ability Program in Maths and English which is a credit to our students and staff who plan the learning at the point of need for students.
Good luck to our Grade 6 students who graduate at the end of the year and are moving onto Year 7. We know you will do fabulous things in your next chapter of schooling.
