Library News 📖

Welcome back to 2025

Our library has a wonderful, wide, variety of books for our students to read. Any student is welcome to visit the library to read quietly and/or borrow before school and the first half of recess. Parents, please feel free to come in with your child before school. Please use backdoor entrance.

To borrow books students in all grades must have a waterproof library bag.

Despite all good intentions, PLEASE DO NOT MEND any books (library or take-home readers). If a book is in need of repair, please send to the library or give to your class teacher with a note saying it needs to be repaired.

Scholastic Book Club

Brochures are sent home twice per term for any families who would like to purchase books for extra reading at home.

All instructions are on the inside back cover of the Scholastic brochure. Ordering cut off dates will be posted on Compass, but normally close within a week from the brochures being sent home.

Book Fairs

We host two Book Fairs during the year, one in term 2 and the other closer to the end of the year in term 4. Book fair gives our students the opportunity to visit a pop-up bookshop during their library lesson. They will be introduced to the variety of books available and given the opportunity to write a ‘Wish List’, which they can bring home and ask if they can maybe purchase one or two. This also helps our library obtain new books.

Book Covering

Again, this year I am looking for a few parents who would be happy to take some books home to cover. I am happy to spend time showing you how to cover the books. If you are interested, please come and see me, Ms Burke, in the library after signing in at reception. Any help would be most appreciated.

Wishing everyone a fantastic year,

Ms Burke.
