Year 3 & 4
Around our level
In Years 3 and 4, we have been exploring the many benefits of practising sport as part of our school day. Sport is a fantastic way to stay active, improve physical health, and have fun with peers. It helps develop coordination, strength, and overall fitness, all while building strong, healthy habits for the future. This term, we are introducing four new sports into our 3/4 sport roster: Ultimate Frisbee, Speed Ball, Indoor Bowls, and Millim Baeyeetch.
The Year 3 and 4 students are playing in house teams and through these team games and physical activities, students are learning how to communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and show good sportsmanship. These important social skills help build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging.
Taking part in regular sport also supports emotional wellbeing, tying in with our wellbeing learning program this term. It encourages goal-setting, self-discipline, and perseverance—skills that benefit children both on and off the field. Most importantly, it creates a positive, energetic environment where students can challenge themselves and celebrate progress.
We were so proud to see the way our students interacted and joined in last week as we worked on skills before starting our official first round next week.
